Thumbnail sheet and final thoughts

Final design (Megaman/Mario)
In my thumbnail sheet I can already see an improvement he way I now draw pixel art on paper. My first drawing was simplistic and with little to no detail. Now, in the rest of my pixel drawings, shading, more precise colouring and a range of different sizes of character are seen clearly. I have seen improvement in the last few drawings as I have used much smaller pixels and gone out of my comfort zone to re-create the characters I have wanted.

On the thumbnail sheet you can see the difference between the first and last drawing, with the new pixel techniques used to allow the character to stand out and become appealing to the eye. This is a huge difference as my first drawing was light with colour with only 2 shades of green and black for the eyes.

My latest drawing uses multiple shades of purple, grey and black. The shape is unique to the rest on the thumbnail sheet.

However there is still room for improvement. I would like to be able to do more complex shapes with a range of colours that haven't been used on the sheet yet. My colouring could use improvement as I struggle with colouring whilst using coloured pencils.

I am going to go out of my comfort zone which consists of using pencil to shade and begin to practice on shading using coloured pencils instead.

Overall, I think I am up to date on my assignments such as the research, re-skinned character (including the concept of the final character) and now the thumbnail sheet.

I look forward to doing more complex work such as using game maker.
